Sixty-six million people live in Thailand. With 92% of the population being Buddhist, this religion dominates Thai culture. Only 1.5% of people in Thailand are Christian.
This is where one TREK team served for seven months. They found that Thailand was a busy and chaotic place to live, along with the added challenge of the extreme heat and a difficult tonal language to learn. But they also discovered the warmth of the people of Thailand. Thai people are always friendly, smiling, and willing to help out.
The TREK team’s main ministry was with children as they taught English, hosted Kids Clubs and Vacation Bible School (VBS), and taught Sunday school. They also built relationships with people in the community, and one team member had the opportunity to share the gospel with a friend who then accepted Christ!
During their time in Thailand, God changed the lives of this TREK team and brought each person into a deeper relationship with Him.
“But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works.” Psalm 73:28
