One of Us

As the Nanerige people in N'Dorola, Burkina Faso gather together for Sunday church in Phil and Carol Bergen's yard, one thing rings true: they are feeling like part of the group! With a church now firmly in place, Pastor Madou is launching into the next steps of evangelism and discipleship.

Madou is attracting people to the faith because he is so much like the Nanerige. Though they share the same cultural heritage, there is a tangible difference in Madou's life - his faith.

As a child he was "Madou the Terrible," beating up other kids until he was 16 years old when missionaries came to his hometown and he learned about life with Christ. Though his father briefly disowned him because of his faith, he soon called Madou back home to live with him. This is when Madou received a call from God to do His work.

God is stirring up faith in the Nanerige people group. Scripture is being translated into the native tribal language and the church is growing upwards of 35 people. How will you be a part of reaching the Nanerige for Christ?
